TERM LENGTH
We prefer a commitment of 12 months, although shorter commitment lengths will be considered!

GYM CAPTAIN (LOCATIONS IN APPLICATION FORM)
Responsibilities
-
Host one indoor climbing meetup once a month
-
Facilitate and maintain a safe and inclusive space for attendees.

Maintain a positive relationship with gym manager.

Publish and maintain event schedules on Google Calendar and Facebook
-
Email a short written summary after each event (template available).
-
Attend or read summary of notes after monthly QC leadership meeting.

(As needed): Maintain asynchronous communication with QC leadership via Slack.

(As needed): Meet with QC leadership for short video calls for responsibilities listed above.

Preferred Experience
-
Experience with hosting groups or coordinating events.
-
Experience with building queer community and or anti-oppression work across intersections such as race, class, ability, immigration status.

Experience with engaging communities that are local to the gym areas.

Ability to call-in self and others when an opportunity for allyship emerges.
Monthly time commitment: Approximately 5 hours if hosting once a month.
VOLUNTEER SUPPORT (LOCATIONS IN APPLICATION FORM)
Responsibilities

Assist Queer Crush Captain at monthly meetup. Estimated 3 hours per month

(As needed): Maintain asynchronous communication with QC leadership via Slack.

(As needed): Meet with QC leadership for 10-15 min video calls for responsibilities listed above.

Monthly time commitment: 12 months.
ADVOCATE OF
Design via Canva (remote)

(As needed): Create digital assets in alignment with Queer Crush brand via Canva or Photoshop for Instagram as squares and stories.

(As needed): Maintain asynchronous communication with QC leadership via Slack.

(As needed): Meet with QC leadership for 10-15 min video calls for responsibilities listed above.

Member Engagement via Meetup.com (remote)

(Monthly): Update monthly QC meetups and special events on meetup.com; audit dates.

(As needed): Maintain asynchronous communication with QC leadership via Slack.

(As needed): Meet with QC leadership for 10-15 min video calls for responsibilities listed above.

Merchandise (NorCal, SoCal)

(As needed): Ensure apparel needs in one or both regions; coordinate transfer of apparel.

(As needed): Maintain asynchronous communication with QC leadership via Slack.

Onboarding & Expansion (remote)

(Monthly): Create and publish monthly list of recurring QC meetups and special events via Substack.

Outreach via Tabling (NorCal, SoCal)

NOR CAL REGIONAL LEAD
Responsibilities

Ensure all the meetups in the Nor Cal region go smoothly.

Check-in with Nor Cal captains.
