I’ve been climbing since 2019 when I got dragged along by friends to an intro to bouldering class at Cliffs of Id in LA. I quickly fell in love with gym bouldering which I thought would be the extent of my climbing practice, but with encouragement/pestering from my brother, my world quickly expanded to rope climbing, which turned into sport and trad following outdoors during the COVID shutdowns, and has since grown to all forms of sport and trad lead climbing. While it initially terrified me, I now love outdoor climbing, the mental clarity it creates and requires, and the incredible, unique connection with nature and friends that climbing provides.Â
I came to climbing a bit late, but immediately found connection and community in the queer climbing world. Many of my climbing partners are folks that I’ve met through Queer Crush and other queer affinity climbing groups and events, and I feel incredibly fortunate to now be able to give back to a group that has had such a positive impact on my life. My goal in serving on the QC board is to help expand QC’s offerings and make climbing of all types even more accessible and approachable to people who don’t necessarily see themselves as climbers. I love teaching and mentoring, and am working toward my AMGA SPI certification to continue to grow my ability to bring folks into the world of outdoor climbing.
Fun Fact:
I love traveling and experiencing new places (and may be a little bit obsessed with maximizing my travel points…).
