Hey there! I’m Oscar, your Queer Crush Climbing gym captain at Rockreation in West LA. I’ve been climbing for 2 years now, and I got hooked because gyms can be intimidating, but Queer Crush made it easy to meet people and find belay partners! The community here is so friendly and supportive, and I love helping other queer climbers connect. As a leader, I focus on inclusion, teamwork, and having fun. I’d say my style is a mix between transformational and coaching—I like to inspire and motivate while helping everyone develop their skills. What I love most about climbing is that each route is a new problem to solve, giving me a full-body workout without the repetition of a traditional gym. I recently climbed my first V5, and I’m excited to keep pushing my limits! When I’m not climbing, you’ll find me riding motorcycles, discovering new DJs, and staying up on the latest tech. I’ve also worked as a ropes course facilitator and been an advocate for LGBTQ+ equality for many years.

Fun Fact: I was conceived while my parents were on vacation in Los Angeles, but I grew up in New York, so relocating to LA felt in a way like coming home!
